The best sustainable campsite in Europe: La Ballena Alegre. The prize has been awarded by the German association ADAC at its 2022 annual gala, which this year has been held online.
Àlex Trias, manager of Camping Car, thanks the award and reinforces La Ballena Alegre’s commitment to sustainability.
Camping Bungalow Resort & Spa La Ballena Alegre has been awarded as the best sustainable and environmentally friendly campsite in Europe. The prize has been awarded by ADAC, the largest German automobile association in Europe – with more members in this country and more than 20 million associated families – during an online gala held in Stuttgart, last Friday, January 14th, 2022.
ADAC highlights that our campsite “is the deserved winner in this category” thanks to a “holistic approach: a successful combination of luxury and modern camping with sustainable protection of the environment. With numerous services, the managers of this 5-star campsite are striving to achieve their lofty goal of reducing their CO2 footprint, and they are doing it very successfully: more than 100 tons of CO2 are saved every year.”
ADAC Camping Awards: The Oscars of Camping

The ADAC Camping Awards are the most important awards for campsites in Europe. These prizes are awarded based on hundreds of suggestions from the camping industry and an international commission of 40 experts in the field. In this way, the winners of the awards were chosen in four categories. The winners and nominees compete in the areas of Sustainability and Environmental Awareness, Innovation and Development, Demographic Change and Accessibility and ADAC Camping Booking.
