New sport event : Hunting Dogs
Hello everyone !!
We hope all of you are in good health and looking forward to the summer season.
We really want to open our doors and see the well-known faces of our customers and welcome the new ones to visit us.
This year we will continue with all the cleaning protocols, distances and mask as in the previous summer but now with more knowledge of the facts and knowing that we are all going to respect the rules and capacity as much as possible.
We are working hard to E N J O Y this summer with family, friends and doing what makes us happy.
For this reason, for bicycle lovers, we have created the Hunting Dogs – Gravel Costa Brava event. A new sport event in Camping Bungalow Resort & Spa La Ballena Alegre.
Gravel is a type of cycling that is practiced starting from the base of a road bike but with some modifications in the geometry of the frame and a larger size of its tires.
Our intention is to share the essence of how we understand this type of cycling (GRAVEL), which is not only sport but also companionship, adventure, freedom and good vibes.
The natural habitat of gravel bikes are tracks, forest roads and highways away from traffic. It is also characterized by its agile pace on low-technical trails and roads.
In this way, we have created an event where you will enjoy with your friends a series of wonderful tours and spectacular landscapes, all combining refreshment stops and culinary tastings.

Triatlón Sailfish Costa Brava
The Camping & Bungalow Resort La Ballena Alegre Costa Brava is pleased to announce the sporting event that will take place inside and outside our facilities.
It is an Olympic distance triathlon but with some special characteristics: Swimming is a bit longer and in the cycling segment, drafting is prohibited.
It will take place on the weekend of September 29th to 30th, 2018. The principal center of the event is the Camping La Ballena Alegre (San Pedro Pescador, Girona).
It is a test of the Catalan Federation of Triathlon that has the support of the Provincial Council of Girona and the Tourist Board of Girona.
A weekend of triathlon and activities for the whole family awaits you. In fact this would be the distinguishing feature of our triathlon: to be able to share with family and friends a weekend with sports as a link, without hurry, travel and with all kinds of facilities.

FIRST WINDFOIL COACHING
ION CLUB Golf de Roses is very excited to host the rst Windfoil Coaching Event, supported by World Cup competitor William Huppert from France (FRA 330 – Lokefoil, Fanatic, North Sails), one of the most experienced windsurf foil riders in Europe.
Ronan Kersaudy, director at ION CLUB Golf de Roses, has been passionate about Windfoiling since the early start of the discipline 5 years ago. Recently he started teaching this sport to his students in his windsur ng school in Costa Brava, Spain.
WINDFOILING
This summer saw an increasing demand in lessons. With most windsur ng brands such as Fanatic now producing speci c Windfoil boards and foil ns, and Windfoiling becoming a PWA World Cup Events discipline from next year onwards, Windfoiling is clearly con- quering its place amongst the water sports.
The time to learn is now!
Our windsur ng spot in Golf de Roses is ideal for learning to Windfoil. We have a very constant thermal wind providing the right amount of wind to take off. Additionally we have the new Fanatic Gecko Foil Edition Boards in the sizes 120 and 133 litres. On top of that we use Lokefoil ns and we will soon add brand-new Fanatic Foils to our boards.

There are two luxury bedrooms with a private bathroom and two additional beds in the living area. If you are a group of friends (max. three people) you can make your personal choices where to sleep, as there are 6 beds in total. Distance to the beach and ION CLUB maximum 30 meters.

With the new boat “Funboat” you will sail all day on the waters of the Bay of Roses. The “Funboat” is especially designed for beginners, easy to assemble, easy to navigate; combines simplicity without being exempt of high doses of emotions. The catamaran is suitable for going out and going back the beach. Uncomplicated, easy to navigate and incredibly stable, the “Funboat” lives up to its name.
At the Sailing Center we offer several ways to enjoy sailing, here you can improve your techniques and sailing skills every day.

KITEBOARDING YOUTH CUP – WORLD KITE LEAGUE
Event of junior kiteboarding that will take place from July 3th to 7th at the campsite La Ballena Alegre Costa Brava.
Once again, this event will gather participants from all over the world competing on the Cortal de la Devesabeach, at Sant Pere Pescador ,where wind and nature combines them to offer a beautiful spectacle.

RIDERS
- It is essential to carry out the REGISTRATION for the championship on the official WKL website. Link on the web worldkiteboardingleague.com
- All riders without accommodation at the campsite La Ballena Alegre, must pay an entrance pass for the entire duration of the event of 80 € which will give you the right to use all facilities and reserved parking. This entrance-pass will be paid at the reception of the campsite at the time of arrival.
- Obligatory and essential to be federated or have insurance to third parties. Proof will be required. There is also the option to hire an IKA insurance in the same campsite at a price of 30 € at the race office in the same campsite and at the time of arrival.

Blog – Kitesurf Regulations
REGULATIONS FOR KITESURF INSIDE OUR FACILITIES
- Don’t go kitesurfing in the swimmers area and leave a safety distance for the swimmers and other users of min. 50 meters.
- It is recommended to surf at a minimum distance of 250 meters from the coast and not to jump or do tricks between the bouys.
- It is required to learn in specialized kite centres before lifting the kite.
- If you think you don’t control the kite you put yourself and others in danger. Don’t go out kitesurfing.
- It is recommended to use a lifejacket and helmet to avoid accidents. Take whistle and knife with you in case of an emergency.
- Check the weather conditions.With offshore wind it is not recommended to go out surfing.
- Leave your material correctly on the beach covered with sand or something else that’s heavy, respecting the other users.
- Act respectfully to beginners and starting kitesurfers.
- Make sure your material is in a good condition.
- Use a safety system on your kite in case of an emergency.
- Leave a safety distance on your leeward side of 50 meters when jumping.
- Don’t go surfing too far away on the water in case you have to swim back.
- In case your kite breaks or damages: 1st collect the lines from the bar; 2nd let some air out off the leading edge; 3rd take the ends of the kite with both hands; 4th go to the beach direction.
- In order to avoid annoyances to the swimmers and other people, avoid walking on the beach with your kite in the air.
- For security reasons it is recommended for swimmers not to use the zones reserved for the practice of this sport.
The campsite is not responsible for the kitesurf activity outside of the permitted areas.
